Monsanto Lawsuit Verdict Slashed
Monsanto Lawsuit Update 2018
Marketwatch.com - Yesterday, California Judge Suzanne Ramos Bolanos reduced the monetary amount of damages that Bayer will have to pay Dewayne Johnson for Roundup's link to cancer. The original $289 million dollars in damages awarded by a jury back in August was slashed down to $39.25 million.
The plaintiff has until December 7th to agree to the newly adjusted amount, or else a new trial will likely be needed. Monsanto is a global leader in farming and agricultural products, raking in over $11 billion from seed sales alone.
Since 2015, the World Health Organization has classified glyphosate, Roundup's active ingredient, as 'likely having the potential to cause cancer. Glyphosate has come under fire in Europe and been the subject of a possible ban in the European Union altogether.
Bayer intends on appealing the recent ruling as they maintain that Roundup was not the cause of Mr. Johnson's non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
If you’ve been exposed to Roundup and have experienced any of the listed criterion above, you may be eligible to receive compensation for damages suffered, medical expenses, or lost work wages. Give us a call to find out more (800) 229-7704.
